Further Review Housing Appeals

If you’ve applied for FGM managed housing but received an Adverse Action Letter or notice that you have been flagged for denial due to your criminal record, you may appeal this decision by taking the following steps:

Step 1: Request Appeal

Request an appeal within two business days of receiving your Adverse Action Letter or notice of denial by:

  • email to [email protected]

  • leave a message by calling 314-474-0513

  • Contact your property manager

Include

  • your name and contact info

  • the property and unit address you were applying for

  • the date of your denial notice

  • your general availability (hearing time or date is NOT guaranteed)

Step 2: Submit Appeal Application and supporting information

Get and Complete the Appeal Application online by clicking HERE or pick up a paper copy from one of our management offices.

Gather supporting information. This may include a personal statement; letters from counselors, community leaders, or parole officers; certificates of completion from rehabilitation or training programs; and more. Submit your Appeal App and supporting docs:

  • Attach them to an email and send to [email protected]

    OR

  • Drop them off in a sealed envelope and label it “Attn: Further Review Panel” and deliver to our main FGM Office at 2758 Russell, 63104.

Application and documents must be submitted prior to your hearing.

Step 3: Attend hearing

Our Panel will communicate the date and time of your hearing. Hearings take place in-person or virtually. (As of August, 2021 all hearings will remain virtual unless otherwise noted.) You may also let us know in your application that you would prefer not to be present.

During the hearing, the panel will review your application and support, and you will have the opportunity to speak your case as well as have supporting speakers.

The Panel decides whether to grant or deny your application on the day of the hearing unless they are missing an important piece of information. You will receive their decision within two business days of the hearing, and you will be given reasons for the Review Panel’s decision. If approved, you move forward in the leasing process. In the case of an adverse decisions, the panel may refer you to voluntary supportive services organizations that may help you address your needs.
